Building Bridges Among Scientists and Engineers
Our Story
Association of Korean-Canadian Scientists and Engineers (AKCSE) is a non-profit organization, established to promote the application of science and technology for the general welfare of the society. AKCSE also aims to foster international cooperation, especially between Canada and Korea, and provide aid to the second generation immigrants to succeed in the field of applied sciences.
AKCSE UofT aims to help Korean students (both undergraduates and graduates) at University of Toronto reach their full career potential. To do so, we will provide academic seminars, scholarship opportunities, professional networking events, and more. Our ultimate vision is to build bridges amongst University of Toronto affiliated Korean-Canadian scientists and engineers, and raise future leaders who will contribute in promoting development and prosperity of the research field.
Being part of AKCSE UofT will automatically register students in AKCSE, which will allow students to:
engage in networking sessions with professionals in Toronto;
participate in internship programs through Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST);
visit Korea to interact with Korean students from across the globe through Young Generation Forum (YGF); and
partake in the national Canada Korea Conference on Science & Technology (CKC).
As well, all of fourteen AKCSE school chapters across Canada aim to work in collaboration to establish an interactive network of Korean students and professionals, and to continue to strive towards building a stronger Korean identity within Canadian society.
University of Toronto is one of the most renowned schools in Canada. UofT graduates are expected to make meaningful contributions to the community, and AKCSE will aid in maximizing your potential.
